How to control the cams for loopings in the MediaTracker

  1. First Notesto top

In forums, or on irc often is asked the question: "How do I change camera for the looping?"
And even if the author knows how to change the camera, he doesn't know how to set an fixed end trigger instead of a time based view change.
Normally you would change the camera view for some seconds, just as long as you take to go through the loop. But other players taking shorter or longer than you to get pass the loop.
That's why I decided to write this tutorial.

Here you learn how to set a trigger changing the view based on the track position of the car and not based on a timed basis.

  2. Entering the MediaTrackerto top

Entering the MediaTracker When you have finished builing the track it's time to create some cameras for loopings and/or jumps...
Click onto the camera icon to enter the MediaTracker, see 1.

  3. Record MediaTracker Ghostto top

Record MediaTrackerGhost First you should record a MediaTracker Ghost.

  4. Re-entering the MediaTrackerto top

Re-entering the MediaTracker After you have finished recording, re-enter the MediaTracker by clicking the camera symbol again and select In Game: Edit

  5. Trigger placingto top

Placing The Trigger 1. Set the trigger on the track where the new camera is supposed to start.

    2. Click on Edit Trigger to disable trigger editing

    3. Click on New Track for inserting a track (it's not a race track!) in the MediaTracker timeline

  6. Creating The Loop Entering Camto top

Select Track Type Select the track type you want to create.
Now we only want to create a new camera, so select it.

Select Camera Type Then select the type Camera race

Configuring The Camera 1. Switch the camera to internal view

    2. Select Keep playing to hold the internal view until we shut it off.

    3. Click on New Clip to insert a second one, needed for Step 7.

  7. Creating The End Triggerto top

Adding 2nd Trigger 1. For the new clip place a trigger, but now where the view is supposed to be restored to the players default choice.
That's it! No new camera or something else, just a plain empty trigger.

Now we have finished and you can leave the MediaTracker.
You still have to validate and then save your track.
Have Fun! :-))
